Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Reviews 5159

Established back in 1993, the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is the second oldest in Dubai and has been voted one of the Top 100 Must-Play Golf Courses in the world. It certainly makes the most of its stunning location; an undulating terrain that hugs the Dubai Creek in the heart of the city, it remains one of the most pleasing courses to play in the Emirates. And with its iconic clubhouse, Dubai Creek provides a refreshingly different golfing experience.

The lush, mature resort at the foot of the city’s Floating Bridge incorporates an 18-hole championship golf course, a 9-hole Par 3 course, an excellent golf academy, six restaurants and bars, gymnasium, tropical swimming pool, the 225-bedroom Park Hyatt Dubai, 92 residential executive villas and a 121-berth marina.

The General Manager Mustafa Al Hashimi said: "We constantly strive to grow and evolve the offerings at the club to provide the very best facilities, service and dining.

We are in the process of completely rebuilding the Academy building this year, and will have refurbishment of the Yacht Club and the clubhouse. All this should be ready for use in the fourth quarter of the year."

CAPACITY: A maximum of four players per group are allowed on the championship course, with handicap certificates required.

FACILITIES: 18 hole championship course; nine hole Par 3 course; golf academy; six restaurants and bars; health club; tropical swimming pool.

MEMBERSHIP: Annual membership to the Dubai Creek will cost AED 23,000. There is, though, currently a waiting list that exceeds 2,500.

RATES: A round will set you back Dh695 on a weekday, and Dh795 on the weekend until April 1 when prices revert to the Winter rates of Dh595 and Dh695 respectively. Nine holes can be played for Dh420/480 until April and Dh360/420 thereafter. Green fees on the Par 3 course are Dh80.

Sport 360 Review

If you love your golf, you simply have to play at least one round at the Creek. The course offers stunning views of Dubai and the Creek, not least from the stunning elevated tee-box on the sixth hole.

Although the championship course of 6,967 yards isn’t as long as its main challengers, its position next to the Creek obviously provides striking views of Dubai and lines the course with a natural water hazard.

It also provides a very difficult finish: the 17th and 18th holes are tricky par 4s with the Creek ready to scoop up any hooked drives. Indeed, the 18th might just be one of the most challenging concluding holes in the whole UAE, with the Creek bordering almost the entire 400+ yards.

The signature hole, though, is the 6th – with the floating tee on the Creek, a tough drive over the water followed by a 2nd shot played into a tough green with another water hazard in front!

The Creek remains one of the best courses in the UAE with a genuine ability to cater for all standards of golfer.
