VIDEO: F1 legend Niki Lauda slams Sebastian Vettel boos
Formula One legend Niki Lauda has hit out at the fans who continue to boo Sebastian Vettel, claiming that are "ridiculous" and do not understand Formula One.
Austrian Lauda, like Vettel a three-time world champion, works for Red Bull's rivals Mercedes as a non-executive director, and could be forgiven for agreeing with fans who believe Vettel's ongoing dominance is bad for the sport.
However, that could not be further from the truth with Lauda launching a passionate defence of the brilliant German, who claimed his third successive Grand Prix win in Singapore at the weekend.
On the boos, Vettel said he was unaffected: "Some people like what we do, other people don't. If they boo it's a compliment, that's the way I take it because they are jealous when we win in front of whoever they support.
"It seems that they are on a tour and are wealthy enough to afford the flights to come to Singapore. I think it's not worth thinking about it and we love winning, which is what we did in the end."
