VIDEO: Brazil unveil new kit as Scolari aims to add sixth star
World cup hosts Brazil have unveiled their new strip for next summer’s tournament with manager Luis Felipe Scolari adamant his side will be victorious.
The pin-up boy of Brazilian football, Neymar, was present to launch the latest design of his country’s famous yellow kit which is once again produced by Nike.
The Brazilians will be one of 10 teams at the finals sponsored by Nike, making the US sports manufacturer the best represented at the tournament.
However Scolari overshadowed the event and the Barcelona star’s presence by taking the opportunity to reiterate his belief that Brazil can win the World Cup.
“The shirt looks great, the only thing missing is a sixth star. We aim to have that on there after the World Cup,” said Scolari.
The Brazil boss’ quotes come only a week after Scolari boldly stated that his side will repeat their triumph of 2002 and lift the most coveted prize in international football.
“Brazil will be the champion,” said Scolari after Brazil’s 5-0 win over Honduras earlier in November.
“I wouldn’t accept to coach Brazil if I didn’t think I could win the World Cup. I took the job because I’m 100% sure that I will win the World Cup with Brazil.”
Brazil are aiming to become the seventh team to win the tournament as hosts, with France most recently staging and winning the tournament in 1998.
