Migrante-UAE escaped a down-to-the-wire 64-63 victory against Art Venture in Week 3 of the 1st PEBC (Pinoy Expat Basketball Club)-Al Khayam Cup at the Al Shabab Sports Club courtesy of a game-winning three-point shot by skipper Jonathan Oracion.

Down by six points, 57-63, Migrante-UAE applied perfect defence and made a 7-0 run in the final two minutes.  Ramon Estigoy and Vincent Aslarona scored jumpers while Oracion, who top-scored for the team with 27 points including seven three-pointers, hit the winning shot beyond the arc.

“The last play was actually set up for our big man Estigoy to go for a quick two points to equalise the score and send the game into overtime but I just found myself open and I gambled to take the shot. Luckily it sunk and we won the game,” Oracion told Sport360°.

Art Venture’s Jay de Jesus missed a late jumper and Migrante-UAE went into jubilation.

Elsewhere, GP Express defeated Al Naboodah Travel and Tours, 60-59, while Taza trounced National Auto, 69-57.
