Pack2Go Packers escaped a 70-69 win over Philippine Car Showroom and secured the last ticket to the Finals in the Class B-C Category of the 3rd PBBL (Pinoy Big Brother League)-Western Union Hard Court Challenge yesterday

Pack2Go will meet the Trojans in the best-of-three Finals this Friday.

The Packers started with a 6-0 run and their sticky defence held Philippine Car Showroom to just two field goals.

Philippine Car Showroom could not find their bearing in the first quarter, missing easy jump shots and lay ups.

The Packers established a double digit lead, 34-22, at the end of the second quarter, which they padded, 48-32, at the end of the third.

Philippine Car Showroom, however, came back with an improved defence in the final quarter as Al Federiso, Rommel Odronio and  Manuel finally found their touch and snatched the lead for the first time, 66-65, with 2:17 left.

With their backs against the wall, Pack2Go veteran Apollo Lim fired from the 3-point area snatch back the advantage at 68-66.

With less than a minute left, Federiso drove straight to the rim, made the basket and was fouled. He nailed the extra charity to give Philippine Car Showroom a one-point margin,  69-68.

Pack2Go’s Faustino then made a big steal and gave the ball to Alfie Gesta, who was open underneath the basket for the winning shot.

“We played excellently in the first three quarters but we miscalculated our opponents in the final quarter.

“Fortunately, our experience and team effort saved us in the dying seconds and we played smart defence,” Pack2Go Packers coach Benjie Bogal told Sport360°.
